About Me
I'm a lifelong Hoosier, who came to Tippecanoe County in 2018 as a Purdue Student.
During my time at Purdue I received two degrees, but far more importantly I found the Greater Lafayette community. Throughout my childhood I struggled with confidence, mainly due to a stutter. The truth is, I never really at home where I grew up. I never felt full accepted. In Tippecanoe, I found community where I felt truly welcomed, where I built the confidence push boundaries, where I found my voice. A community that I could call home.
Between June 2022 and May 2023, I served on West Lafayette City Council, where I authored and passed an ordinance devoted to tenate rights. The ordinance requires that all developers must notify current tenants by physical mail and email if they are seeking to rezone the property. The ordinance was written as a response to actions of a local developer who endanger the housing rights of some of my constituents. Much of my time was dedicated to advocating and organizing on behalf of Purdue students, and particularly sexual violence survivors, after two Purdue University administrators were found guilty of violating the rights of a sexual violence survivors. After college I came back to Tippecanoe County and worked in community development for two years. I currently work in the mental health field, and I look forward to hopefully bring experience from each of those fields to my work in the trustee's office.
